Walk to Emmaus in Zambia

We are in the process of starting the Walk to Emmaus program here in Zambia. The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all."

The process starts with sending people to Walk to Emmaus weekends in nearby countries until we have enough experienced people to start holding Walks here in Zambia. We will be sending our first group of eight (four men and four women) to South Africa in mid-March.

If you have been on a Walk to Emmaus, you know what a blessing it is. Would you consider helping us with the finances as we start this project? The initial costs are high because of the need to travel to South Africa. Any amount you contribute would help in this project. It will take several trips and several thousand dollars to get enough people through the program before we can do it ourselves in Zambia. The cost for this first group will be approximately $6,500. We hope to send more people later this year, with the goal of having our first Walk in Zambia in late 2013.
